Long Term Care Ombudsman

DESCRIPTION:            
The local LTCO advocates for residents in licensed long-term care facilities. Ombudsman receive, identify, investigate and resolve complaints, including reports of elder abuse and neglect, from or on behalf of the residents. The advocate will serve residents in Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties and travel frequently throughout all three counties.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Social Work or appropriate field.
  • State of Michigan Long Term Care Ombudsman certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • At least two years’ experience working with and preferably advocating for the vulnerable senior population.

TERMS:                       
Part Time/24 hours per week.   Submit cover letter, resume, and salary expectations to our human resources department at hr@areaagencyonaging.org. Application deadline is September 21, 2020.
