Position Summary: Provides leadership and expertise in financial accounting and reporting. The role is essential for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of the organization’s financial records. Responsibilities include overseeing month-end close financial reporting, budget updates, grant reporting, forecasting, and conducting financial analysis for compliance purposes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the preparation of regulatory reports, including those related to governmental accounting.
- Manage and maintain the organization’s accounting software ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Reconciliation of multiple accounts, prepare general journal entries as needed, and review General Ledge and Trial Balance at month-end close.
- Helps to ensure that all corporate and required accounting policies and procedures are documented and followed by the division.
- Develop and maintain effective cash management practices to ensure the organization’s financial stability.
- Analyze and interpret financial data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of the divisionās financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external auditors and other regulatory agencies.
- Strong attention to details and organizational skills; ability to organize and maintain files.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in corporate accounting.
- Experience in administration of fiscal operations; fund accounting or governmental reporting experience desired.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
- Passion for the mission and work of the organization.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Dynamics (SL, 365, Solomon, Great Lakes) preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must be able to perform standard arithmetical calculations (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication); calculate payroll taxes, travel reimbursements, and extend and verify vendor invoices; and apply and solve algebraic equations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common accounting manuals and journals, financial reports and budgets, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from subcontractors and vendors, regulatory agencies, or community agencies. Ability to effectively present information to agency management, public groups, and/or Board of Directors.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to maintain multiple fiscal accounts, leaving clean audit trails. The ability to understand a variety of accounting models and render technical assistance to improve them. Ability to be both tactful and assertive. Ability to translate programming needs into realistic budgets. Ability to operate computerized accounting systems evolving technological applications as available. Ability to work well with people on a personal basis.
