Region IV AAA provides state and federal funding for Community-based services through an open and competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process every three years. All potential contractors are given the opportunity to submit a proposal to provide one or more defined fundable services and must be able to comply with the Bureau of Aging, Community Living, & Supports (ACLS Bureau) Operating Standards for Service Programs.
Request for proposals are issued every three years based on an approved Multi-Year Plan; funding can vary from year to year depending on availability of state and federal dollars.
Region IV AAA looks for innovative proposals to provide Older Americans Act services to older adults within Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties. The proposals must be specific, measurable, and community based.
Contract award recommendations are reviewed by the Advisory Council and approved by theĀ Board of Directors.
Non-profit organizations, private for-profit organizations, or units of general purpose government or agencies are eligible to respond. All potential contractors must be able to comply with the Bureau of Aging, Community Living, & Supports (ACLS Bureau) Operating Standard for Service Programs and serve the Michigan counties of Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren.
Three-year contracts are awarded to selected organizations. Funding can vary from year to year based on availability of state and federal dollars. Currently Region IV AAA has contracts for:
- Adult Day Care
- Caregiver Training (Powerful Tools for Caregivers)
- Congregate and Home Delivered Meals
- Creating Confident CaregiversĀ®
- Legal Assistance
- Respite Chore
- Transportation
THE FY2023-FY2026 COMPETITIVE BID PROCESS IS NOW CLOSED. THE FY2027-FY2029 COMPETITIVE BID PROCESS WILL OPEN IN EARLY 2026.
