Eligibility Specialist

SUMMARY:       Provides support to the Care Management Department by completing tasks that aid in participant access to benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Corresponds and coordinates with Care Managers, clients, their representatives, and others to access information needed to complete entitlement applications and access Third Party Liability and other eligible benefits.
  • Performs and/or assists with completing entitlement applications and redeterminations.
  • Reviews discrepancies in program enrollment and works with local DHHS office and MDHHS staff to resolve issues as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literacy in routine office applications required.

Designated by the State of Michigan to receive federal Older Americans Act funds for planning and development, the corporation manages an array of government contracts for service delivery in southwest Michigan. Our primary service area includes Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties.
