Position: Kinship Caregiver Program Development Coordinator
Reports To: Senior Volunteer Program Director/Region IV Area Agency on Aging
Description: Investigates community need, innovates and collaborates to redevelop Kinship Caregiver Program to identify and support kinship care situations where an individual aged 55 or over is the primary caregiver for a child no more than 18 years old, including developing workplans for sustained programing beyond the contracted period.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop recruitment of, and program outreach to, kinship families
- Conduct focus groups/listening sessions to ascertain the needs of local kinship families
- Establish Kinship Program redesign based on focus group input
- Compile resources for kinship families
- Establish Kinship caregiver support group
- Establish gift card program ($50), camp scholarships, or other to meet immediate needs
- Prepare, manage and analyze incoming and outgoing correspondence for Kinship Program.
- Report program progress to director to ensure the program’s overall direction and integrity
- Provide periodic program updates and/or presentations to program sponsors, champions, and senior leadership
- Perform the overall day-to-day management of Kinship Program during the development stage to ensure objectives are achieved within time/cost/quality constraints, in an effort to assure smooth continuity of program.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human services, health care or related field, or equivalent experience. Computer experience and strong organizational skills a must; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work well with others; sensitivity with older persons; skills working with community groups; cultural sensitivity.
Terms
