Providers

Area Agencies on Aging are a nationwide network of nonprofit organizations designated through the Older Americans Act to be one-stop shops with information about programs, services and housing options.

AAAs work hand-in-hand with a statewide network of service providers, including  councils on aging, senior centers, home health agencies,  Michigan Aging and Adult Services Agency, and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

For more information about our Provider Network see the links below or call our Contracts Department at (269) 982-7751.

Provider Network

The many organizations and agencies that provide services to seniors or adults with disabilities are considered our service “partners.” Funded partners are either under a Direct Service Purchase (DSP) Bid Agreement to provide in-home services or are Annual Contractors through funding received from the Older Americans Act to provide community services.

All potential contractors must be able to comply with the Bureau of Aging, Community Living, & Supports (ACLS Bureau) Operating Standard for Service Programs and serve the Michigan counties of Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren.

Direct Service Purchase

The Care Management Program purchases in-home services on a pre-set, per-unit basis according to an individual’s care plan and a Direct Service Purchase (DSP) Provider Enrollment Agreement. DSP Agreements are established throughout the fiscal year to fill a specific area of need.  Participation does not guarantee referrals or a specific volume of clients.

Providers bill monthly to be reimbursed for services provided.  Services provided include Community Living Supports (In-Home and Residential), Personal Care, Homemaker, In-Home Respite, Out-of-Home Respite, Chore, Home Delivered Meals, Personal Emergency Response Systems, Counseling, Financial Management, Nursing Services, Private Duty Nursing,Medication Management, and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation.

All Residential settings (eg. AFC, ALF, HFA) must be in compliance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Home and Community Based Settings (HCBS) assessment  prior to being accepted as a provider of services for Region IV Area Agency on Aging.
